doing!
For the internet saftey doing portion I spoke with my sister (she's 14 years old) O asked her what she knew and it surprised me how much she knows. So I was able to tellher about what to look out for on the internet to stay safe, not to give out thier information and to not talk to strangers and I told her about a few of the cases that i watched and read about. I think that it was very valuable!

Internet Saftey Reading
I chose to read the Article titled "Tangled in the Web". the article was written by this mother in the church and how she got addicted to playing online chess and how it negativly influenced her life and how she was able to come back out of that addiction and live her life again.
I learned that this can happen to everyone the author of the story recounted how she was normal and not addicted to the internet and I learned how quickly that kind of thing can effect you life without you even realizing it or making the choice to le it effect you. I also learned that through the help and strength of others internet addictaions can be overcom. Another thing I learned is that it doesn't have to be pornographic websites and other bad sites to get addicted and make it a problem in your life, she just got addited to playing chess which is a very normal activity.
Because I've learned these thign I'll talk to my future children or students and let them know that there are things on the internet that can start out as good things to help learn, or to have fun but things not in moderation always turn to the bad side of things. I think we could talk about all the things they would rather be doing then playing games on the internet (i.e. playing on the playground, camping, reading, etc.) then I would have them post a bumber sticker that has what they would rather be doing by the computer so when they saw the bumper sticker it would remind them the other more fun things they could be doing.
I think that I will be more careful about playing online games and when I'm home with my family I'll encourage my sisters not to play games and I will try to get them to do other things with me that don' involve playing games on the computer.

Other Technology Projects
What I learned from someone else's technology project. I just looked at one of the projects that had beed posed in the student work section and I found out about teh prethmian boards and one of the things that you can use with the boards and the Activote system which seems to be a very effective system that can be used (like i clickers but for elementary school) I learned how he was able to check for understndind while he taught a lesson on Pronouns. I think that that would have been very helpful to see their understnading so quickly and be able to adjust the lesson accordingly.

I think that one idea I have for a technology assignment is to introduce the hard to undestand vocabulary in my shared reading book to the students using a PowerPoint presentation with the words and the pictures.
The shared reading is about an aquarium so I think I will take some of the different animals in the aquarium to talk about what they are before we read teh book, so things like Minnows and Guppies and Snappers. The only really way you can describe these on a surface level (just so they can understand what is going on in the context of the book) is to give them a visual image, It also helps if they can see the words that they are learning so they can identify them when they come a crossed them in the reading.

Classroom inventory
While doing the Classroom Inventory I was able to learn that the teachers in the school have the access to a bunch of technology that is not used as much as I thought it would be. I learned that most of the technology in the classroom is basic, but when the students go to computer lab there are many programs and games that they can use.
I also learned that a lot of lessons don't need technology. I'm in first grade and there are lots of things that they could use technology but i don't think that it actually improves their learning. I think that there are still lessons that can be improved with technology but I realized that less lessons then I expected are improved by technology.
